Horses are easy, people not so easy. It is us, the equestrian that needs training. We have the larger brain, we are the ones who need to solve the problems, we are the ones who need to make the accommodations, we are the ones who are able to reason, we are the ones who need to respect the nature of other life forms, we are the ones who can see future consequences. The horse is fine without us, yes it needs feed and water. It will exercise it’s self as needed to survive, it will seek the order of it’s herd for comfort, it lives in the present moment. It does not care about ribbons, length of stride, muscles in it’s topline, respect or love. It seeks to be with it’s own kind, to eat whenever it wants and drink whenever it wants, to move about whenever it wants and to procreate, that’s about it.
