Retiring my Neubee horse.

Retiring my Neubee horse.

After having a last consult on Neubee’s bucking behavior, which because of my air vest, hasn’t hurt me badly, I have decided to retire him with Pickle. I have gambled with my life and I won’t do that anymore. Neubee has neurological issues and recurrent, intense pain sometimes when he is moving. This last year I have really had the opportunity to work with him because all issues of sickness, or hoof lameness, or injury have been gone. Before this past year, i kept feeling like I was stopping and starting with his training so I could not feel certain about his perseverant intense bucking.
He was a rescue horse, with no indication of these underlying problems. I have given him every chance. He is a sweet boy, he has continued to improve except this one dangerous area that makes me too vulnerable. I’ve been wearing and selling air vests since 2006. I don’t know how many horses I have ridden during that time, but I never deployed the vest before Neubee and with him, I have deployed it 5 or more times over the years. Some times, just little hickups, like a jump refusal, but other’s either bucking, slipping or falling.
I’m sad but not sad. We are lucky enough to have the dirt he stands on, the most expensive part of owning a horse next to training. So, he can stay here and learn more tricks and be a service horse. Hey, now I feel ok about teaching him to lie down!
So, I am looking for a horse (gelding) to work, train, or lease that doesn’t buck or rear, is sound and nicely forward. Of course, my dream is a blue roan:*). I’m thinking something like a morgan or spanish cross with TB or racing Qtr as their gaits are pretty smooth even if they are big movers. So, if you know of someone who wants some free training, to lease a good horse or just to board a nice gelding and get it worked a few times a week. Let me know. Neubee and I thank you.
