a rescued horse, sort of

a rescued horse, sort of

possible rescue

I’m pretty sure we are going to get that horse i saw the other day. He is a cute bay, very thin with horrible feet, but super tolerant and pretty insensitive. Someone had done some with him or his disposition is just dull. He knows a little natural type stuff, like he sort of knows how to turn in the round pen, either that or i just move so much like a mare. He does not give to pressure, is not soft side-to-side, does not back up in hand, balks when led, initially tried to kick me when i asked him to move( a mean horse would have kicked me and i was wearing my helmet.) If you ever want to see how fast i can climb a fence, ask Star. I was in the center of the pen, I took off his lead;  asked him to move–click, click, click and waved my arms a bit. He turned his head away, and pushed toward me with his shoulder, side stepped toward me and then the hind end started to swing around. I didn’t watch for anything until i was half way up the fence and hoping he was not backing up after me.

The last time I had to do that, it was a cow.
