Club is more than just riding, it is a lifestyle. It is all about horses, commitment, education and responsibility, as well as fun, exercise and recreation. There are many groups that support the education of young riders, but few that foster the same support, education and commraderie for adult riders. Riding Club at equestrianTraining.com aims to fill that niche for adult riders. Whether you are an adult beginner, a returning rider who rode as a youngster, or an experienced rider seeking the companionship of others, riding club can work for you.
Riding club is a commitment to spend time around, work with, care for, ride and train horses. You will be taught and have the opportunity to practice safe riding and training skills. There will be work in the arena, or rides on the trail or horse outings as a group.
Club members are taught within a standardized rating system that offers testing to verify skill and ability in their chosen disipline. You ride with others of similar skill and serve as models for those with less experience. Some standards that may be used are United States Pony Club ratings, California 4-H horsemanship advancement levels, Certified Horsemanship Association Levels or any other published equivalent standard.
Some of the training and riding activities are:
Rainy-day, Hot-day Riding Club. Horses don't melt when it rains or cook when it's too hot to ride, riding club doesn't go away, either. On the days we don't want to ride, we will have group lessons such as:
Other than planned vacations of a week or more, there are no makeups or refunds for missed riding club times or activities.
You must be able to catch and tack the horse you ride, with minimal hands-on supervision. Minimal hands-on supervision means that you will be watched and may need some help, if you need concentrated individual hands-on attention that takes me away from the group or on-going training activities private lessons are available.
I agree to and understand the requirements for riding club.
If you own or lease a horse and I care for it here, you are free to be here anytime during business hours, but I am only available to help you during club times. Although I may be here and sometimes can keep an eye out for issues while you ride, non-club time is for other commitments and training I have to do.
